Annual SVT symposium

Whither responsibility?

The theme for the SVT symposium in 2024 is responsibility. Where are considerations of responsibility headed, between the “no longer” and the “not yet”?

About the symposium

Considerations about social responsibility, often around the research policy principle of "RRI", Responsible Research and Innovation, have long been one of the key research interests at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities (SVT).

Over the last 15 years, SVT researchers have engaged both in the study and the enactment of RRI across a variety of fields, contexts and research environments, in a series of national and EU-funded projects.

At the 2024 symposium "Whither responsibility?" we will look for tensions, confluences and undercurrents as principles of responsibility meet other normative constraints in the contexts of health, sustainability, policy and security.

Where are considerations of responsibility headed, between the "no longer" and the "not" yet”?
