Main content

Over the past decade, artificial intelligence has achieved major technological breakthroughs and has become part of research, education and working life. However, for AI to gain widespread acceptance in society, it is crucial that the systems that use artificial intelligence are reliable. Today's AI systems lack scientific definitions and clear criteria for values such as fairness, responsibility, security, privacy and other important ethical aspects. There are also serious weaknesses in the legal frameworks within which AI systems operate, as well as problems with the accuracy and robustness of the systems.

To address these challenges and strengthen high-quality AI research at UiB, the Trond Mohn Research Foundation (TMF) and the University of Bergen have developed and co-financed the Trustworthy AI research programme. This seminar will present insights from this research programme.

The seminar is held in English.
