Main content

Our research and teaching activity revolves around the development and physiology of organisms, focusing on fish and challenges in establishing sustainable aquaculture. In addition, we do research on the toxicological mechanisms of environmental toxins to ensure a clean and healthy ocean. Our research, teaching and assignment guidance cover laboratory analyses, experimental studies and field analyses within overall themes from molecular mechanisms, systems biology, toxicology, endocrinology, developmental processes and physiological homeostasis to feeding optimization, feeding and ecotoxicology. Central is society's need for the development of sustainable farming and a clean ocean.

We have the professional responsibility for teaching in three fields of study,  Environmental Toxicology, Aquaculture Biology, and  Developmental Biology, Physiology and Nutrition,  as well as an integrated master’s in  Aquaculture.
