Framework agreements

Many new purchases will be covered by existing framework agreements, as UiB has entered into a number of framework agreements for both goods and services.

Framework agreements establish the terms and conditions for purchases during a set contract period. Through framework agreements, UiB can ensure good prices and favourable conditions for warranty and maintenance. Framework agreements also ensure that UiB can influence suppliers to attend to human rights, worker's rights, and pursue sustainable development and environmental standards.    

Framework agreements are binding

Loyalty to the agreement is a premise for a good framework agreement. If a purchase of goods or services is covered by an existing framework agreement, the purchase must be made using our contracting partner. Call-off under a frame work agreement

As a rule, a call-off under a frame work agreement can be made by placing av purchase order directly. Some framework agreements do however commit us to conduct a competition between multiple suppliers, a so-called mini competition.

If a purchase is not covered by an existing framework agreement, two options remain; the establishment of a new frame work agreement or making an individual purchase.
