My name is Andrea, I'm in my last semester of my bachelor's degree in geology at UiB, and I'm one of the two lucky ones who got an internship at Brønnøy Kalk. Here they extract marble that will later be turned into Hydrocarb ("liquid marble"), which, among other things, protects paper from ink flowing out and making the paper white.

I chose this company for several reasons, but mainly based on the variety between being inside and outside, as well as the mentioned fields of interest in the job description. My expectations were that I would learn a lot of new things, and maybe get a clearer idea of what I want to do in the future. In addition, I hoped to gain a better understanding of different (geological) processes and become more confident in what I know, and that I would be able to use the skills I have gained through almost three years at UiB.
