UiB marks the start of a new academic year at UiB with a welcome ceremony at Muséplass (Muséplass square). The ceremony is in Norwegian and will be subtitled in English.

Concert at Verftet with the Faculty of Science and Technology and The Faculty of Humanities

An artist will be announced on Instagram a few weeks in advance.There will also be a giveaway on Instagram during the summer holiday where you can win a free ticket for you and a friend.

Joint Kickoff at Metz in the City Centre

This is a private event for the Faculty of Psychology, giving new students the chance to get to know each other and start the week off right.

Sports Day at Møhlenpris Sports Field

With the entire Faculty of Psychology. A variety of activities and games to help you get to know both your buddies and fellow students.

Fløyen mountain hike

Join an organized mountain hike to mount Fløyen. This is a good opportunity to get to know the hiking possibilities in Bergen, and other students. 

Evening Activity at Bryggen Nightclub

A chance to experience Bergen’s nightlife and have fun with your fellow students.

Outdoor cinema with the Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF)

Wednesday evening you can experience Bergen in a completely new way. Sit down on the lawn outside the Geophysical Institute, Allégaten 70, and enjoy a movie on a large screen, with Mount Ulriken and the lake Store Lungegårdsvann in the background. The film is in English and is shown in collaboration with the Bergen International Film Festival (BIFF).

The student welfare organisation Sammen is holding a student fare. Pop by Grieghallen to see if you can find your student organisation! Hallaien concert

As a spectacular ending to the welcome week, all students in Bergen are invited to a large outdoor concert at Koengen on Friday 15 August! You will fint link to tickets in MittUiB closer to the concert date.

This evening event is a perfect way to wrap up the week, featuring fun awards for both buddies and buddy groups.

If you need to chat with your student advisor, they are available for drop-in guidance and can help you with semester registration.
