At the University of Bergen Library we use methods from service innovation and design thinking to develop and improve the services offered otherwise. The service development methods are used to support project, work and organizational groups at and associated with the University of Bergen Library, in exploring new working methods, as well as developing future services.

The user perspective is a central part of product and system development. This ensures that the digital services work for those who will be using them. An important part of a good user experience is a good user interface and this is something we aim for in our work. For development teams, tools from service development and service innovation can help identify user needs and the group's overall goals, or provide a structured process for working through issues with the expertise and resources available to you.
