UiB's honorary doctorate: Anne Larigauderie (IPBES)

The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Dr. Anne Larigauderie, will receive an Honorary Doctorate at the University of Bergen on May 24th. CeSAM are pleased and honored to have assisted UiB with the scientific program around this visit. Anne will be present in Bergen from May 22nd – 25th, and there will be several opportunities to hear, meet, and interact with her.

On May 23rd there are two very interesting events. Both are open to the public, and we hope that many of you will be able to attend! Both events will be held in English.

At the knowledge breakfast, Larigauderie will share her personal story and participate in a panel discussion about IPBES’ work, and how this work affects today's and tomorrow's decision-makers in politics, administration and business.

IPBES: A Decade at the Crossroads of Biodiversity Science for Better Policy and Action | News | UiB

In this lecture, Dr. Larigauderie will reflect on the development of IPBES, focusing on the panel's growing influence in the global science policy landscape. She will also discuss IPBES' impact on science and researchers, on international politics, and on the implementation of measures for nature and nature's contribution to people.
