The University of Bergen (UiB) is a research-intensive university where sustainability is, and has long been, a natural and integral part of all of our activities. We focus on sustainability in our research, education, innovation and operations. On these pages you will find some examples of how we work on sustainability in these areas, as well as an overview of future events and relevant matters.

The Burkhardt and Christiaen labs celebrate the certification

Two research groups obtain My Green Lab certification at the Michael Sars Centre

Efforts to make the Christiaen and Burkhardt laboratories more sustainable were rewarded with the highest-level certification from international environmental organization My Green Lab. The initiative received support from the UiB Climate Fund.

Establishing a center for legal research on the ocean and the green transition

The Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen has established the COAST Law Center—a research center for climate, energy, and sustainability law, thematically focused on climate, the ocean, the marine environment, and maritime activities.
