The distribution of a species is an inherent part of its ecology. Species distribution is essential for a successful species’ management.
A special issue of the journal Growth and Change addressing the relationship between innovations and geographical contexts has been based on a session at the Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers (AAG) in Seattle, Washington in 2011.
In today’s economic and power consuming state, hydropower can be regarded as the most critical and beneficial renewable resource in Norway. The main goal of my project is to visualize past temporal snowlines on the west coast mountain regions in Norway during varying future climate scenarios and to study how this will affect the production of hydropower.

The glaciers of the Himalayan mountains are some of the most undersampled in the world owing to their remoteness, harsh conditions, and in some areas political situations.
Increasingly, transnational companies are expected to contribute to economic and social development in the countries they operate in. In this doctoral thesis I will examine how the Norwegian corporate social investment and CSR activities affect local communities in Indonesia and Canada, and how local stakeholders receive and perceive such investments.
