Researcher Steffen Leth Jørgensen is the Centre for Geobiology’s (CGB) 3rd successful Bergen Research Foundation’s Recruitment Programme candidate.
Several partners of the dCod 1.0 project participated in field studies in the Oslo fjord. The aim of the expedition was to study the pollution levels of cod in this popular area. For two of the four days they were joined by ecology students and teachers from the University of Oslo.
On Tuesday 22 November, Minister of Trade Monica Mæland officially opened the University of Bergen's new pilot project plant for growing of micro algae at the Technology Centre Mongstad, north of Bergen. The goal is to develop micro algae to use as feed in the aquaculture industry.
Ms Apinya Singkhala has a Royal Golden Jubilee PhD scholarship awarded by the Thai Research Fund for a 10 month reseach visit to BIO. She will work on thermophilic bacteria and hydrolytic enzymes from hot springs in Thailand.
Rector Dag Rune Olsen visited the University of the South Pacific to strengthen ties between Bergen and Fiji. Whilst in the Pacific, he also met with UiB exchange students.
Aurélien Delaval is doing his Masters degree with the EvoFish group at the Department of Biology. Now UiB is highlighting him as an example of the highly international crowd of students that are taking their MSc degree in Bergen.
