The effect of increased mantle temperature at wide volcanic margins is likely overestimated. Large volumes of magmatism at volcanic rifted margin can be explained by depth-dependent extension and very moderate excess mantle potential temperature.

UiB clears four tonnes of plastic (19.05.2021)
The University of Bergen and its partners collected four tonnes of plastic waste during this year’s plastic clearing drive. By comparison, 1.5 kg of plastic were found in the stomach of the Plastic Whale.

The earliest human burial in Africa has been discovered at an archaeological site near Mombasa. Excavations revealed the body of a three-year-old child, deliberately buried around 78,000 years old.
