Annamari Vitikainen

Guest Researcher

Annamari Vitikainen is Professor of Philosophy at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, and Guest Researcher (2021-2022) at the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies, University of Bergen. Vitikainen’s research interests fall broadly within the field of contemporary political philosophy, social and global justice, and sexuality and gender. In recent years, Vitikainen has been especially interested in questions relating to migration, multiculturalism, and minority rights, with a specific focus on questions relating to so-called ‘minorities within minorities’ (such as, e.g. LGBTQ+ refugees).

At present, Vitikainen is running a four year Research Council of Norway research project on Good Integration (GOODINT): Goals and bottlenecks of good integration and social cohesion (2021-2025).

Vitikainen is also leader of the Pluralism, Democracy, and Justice (PDJ) research group at UiT.

At SKOK, Vitikainen is associated with the Foundational problems in gender and sexuality research –group.
