Sigrid Sandal holds a postition at SKOK as research assistant.
Sigrid graduated her masters degree in History fall of 2017. Her thesis explored how norwegian medical professionals and health administration understood and treated transgender personsons in the period 1952-1982. Her research consisted of archive material from the Norwegian state archives. Spesifically files from the Office of Psychiatry in the Directorate of Health. the thesis describes how the medical profession caught intgerest in transvestites and transsexuals, how a treatment system came into place unofficailly and how this got formalized towards the serivice known today as The national treatmentcentre for transsexualism in Norway (NBTS). For her project Sigrid recieved a masters degree scholarship from the Norwegian Queer Archive in Bergen.
