Sigrid graduated with her master's degree in History in the fall of 2017. Her thesis explored how Norwegian medical professionals and health administrations understood and treated transgender persons in the period from 1952 to 1982. Her research consisted of archive material from the Norwegian state archives; spesifically files from the Office of Psychiatry in the Directorate of Health. The thesis describes how the medical profession took an interest in transvestites and transsexuals, how a treatment system came into place unofficially and how this got formalized towards the serivice known today as The National Treatment Centre for Transsexualism in Norway (NBTS). For her project, Sigrid received a master's degree scholarship from the Norwegian Queer Archive in Bergen.
