I am part of the advisory team for externally financed projects at the Division of Research and Innovation, UiB. I work with and coordinate various proposals in the research and innovation funding programme the Horizon Europe, with the main focus in two areas:
The Horizon Europe Cluster 3: Civil security for society, for which I act as a Local Contact Point.
The European Research Council (ERC) grants.
For UiB´s ERC applicants, the advisory team spreads information about calls, helps with proposal writing and organizes training events for ERC proposers invited to an interview in Brussels. We offer ERC interviews and organize regular proposal writing courses, reading days and seminars, collaborating with the Norwegian Research council.
I have vast experience with various projects and proposals from the Norwegian Research Council, including coordination of the internal UiB process for Project Establishment Support (PES) and Positioning funding (POS) of proposals and projects directed towards Horizon Europe.
Scientific competence
Climate variability and change, Arctic sea ice variability and change and the ocean-atmosphere heat exchange;
Polar regions, Arctic-midlatitude linkages, Northern Hemisphere temperature trends: causes and associations to decadal ocean fluctuations (the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation, the Pacific Multidecadal Oscillation);
Peer review work J. Climate, Climate Dynamics, Geophysical Research Letters, Geophysical Research, Nature.
Atmospheric physics; turbulent atmospheric flow; physics and aerodynamics of the atmospheric flow (planetary boundary layer)
Pollution removal; zero pollution, carbon cycle;
Cross-disciplinary projects;
