Our associate professor Silje Kristiansen got accepted into UiB's career development program Momentum for 2023!
We mark European Social Survey’s (ESS) 20th anniversary by holding a seminar at Hotel Norge, Wednesday 25 January, from 0930 to 1700. Department of Government has been national coordinator for the ESS since 2019, and wishes to invite all interested parties to participate at the seminar. Everyone are also invited to a competition on making the best ESS data visualization.

Arjan Schakel has been appointed as professor in Comparative Territorial Democracy at the Department of Comparative Politics. He was previously research professor at the department where he in 2019 started to work on the research project "Strengthening Regional Democracy" funded by a Trond Mohn Foundation starting grant.
In January, the Pandemic Centre offers a two-week course for students on learning from the COVID-19 pandemic. The course builds on last year's digital module and is open to all students at master's and PhD level.
Exciting academic positions at the Department of Government
The redesigned Master’s programme in Politics and Governance of Global Challenges explores the complex multi-level governance of global, and often wicked, problems in the contemporary world such as inequality, climate change, migration, or pandemics.
Urban Enclaving Futures affiliated researcher Ole Johannes Kaland will present his work at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University on Monday 31st October.
The Norwegian newspaper Dagsavisen writes about findings from the Norwegian Citizen Panel regarding how Norwegians feel towards climate change. These findings reveal that sadness is the most common emotion, but in general, we feel little towards climate change.
Freya focalised a set of concerns—mass extinction, accelerating icemelt, species hierarchy—which have come, in part, to exemplify the Anthropocene epoch.
